Deputy Director, Hardware and Facilities Management

Role Overview

1. Contribute to the formulation of Information Communication Technology (ICT) policies and strategies in line with the Ministry’s mandate and national development imperatives.; 2. Coordinate the rollout of ICT equipment for Lands Information Management System (LIMS), Geographic Information System (GIS), Rural Development Management Information Systems, and other digital systems.; 3. Oversee the procurement, installation, configuration, and regular auditing of all ministry ICT hardware, servers, and peripheral devices.; 4. Schedule routine preventive maintenance and plan continuous technological upgrades to keep hardware aligned with modern industry standards.; 5. Coordinate preventive maintenance and servicing of ICT equipment across the Ministry.; 6. Coordinate helpdesk and support teams to provide timely solutions and troubleshoot hardware faults for ministry personnel.; 7. Coordinate in-house ICT etiquette and user training; 8. Implement hardware security controls.; 9. Supervise, coach and counsel subordinates.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management and Information Technology, or equivalent.
• A relevant Master’s degree in the aforementioned field(s) is an added advantage.
• A minimum of six (6) years experience at Officer Grade level or equivalent.
• Understanding of networking infrastructure, hardware, and operating systems.
• Familiarity with ICT governance frameworks (such as ISO 20000/ISO standards).
• Working knowledge or appreciation of database systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP BASIS) where applicable.
