Caretaker (Bulawayo)

An Organisation in the financial sector is seeking a caretaker who will be for responsible for the day-to-day management and upkeep of the Residence, including cleaning, maintaining the house, caring for the yard and gardens, and ensuring that the residence remains presentable, functional, and hospitable at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains all rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and common areas of the residence.
• Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the yard, gardens, lawns, pathways, and outdoor recreational areas.
• Prepares and serves nutritious meals in accordance with dietary needs, preferences, and health requirements.
• Maintains kitchen hygiene, food safety standards and adequate food supplies to ensure a safe and efficient meal service.
• Monitors and maintains adequate stocks of household supplies, and cleaning materials, ensuring proper storage and timely use to prevent stock expiry and wastage.
• Maintains high standards of safety by ensuring the proper use of equipment, gas and electrical appliances, identifying and reporting potential hazards, and implementing measures to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to property.
• Provides laundry and linen care services, including washing, ironing, and proper storage of clothing and household fabrics.
• Reports and coordinates repairs and maintenance of the residence, equipment, and utilities.
• Ensures cleaning machinery, kitchen equipment and utensils and are available, clean and in good working condition.
• Conducts pool cleaning, filtration, backwashing and water-quality maintenance, including appropriate chemical treatment and pH testing.

Requirements

• 5 Ordinary Levels.
• Diploma in Hospitality.
• 6 months relevant experience
• Ability to prepare meals and maintain high standards of food hygiene.
• Proficiency in housekeeping, laundry, and grounds maintenance.
• Knowledge of occupational health, safety, and sanitation practices.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain household electrical and gas appliances.
• Good organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
• High level of integrity, reliability, and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and maintain a professional and welcoming environment.
