About the role
- The incumbent will be reporting to the ICT Infrastructure Manager and will be responsible for the following among other duties;
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware including desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and other peripherals to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware faults and carry out repairs or replacements to minimize system downtime.
- Assemble and test new computer systems and components to ensure compatibility with existing software and network infrastructure.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on hardware to improve performance, security, and extend equipment lifespan.
- Monitor hardware performance and manage inventory by conducting regular audits and maintaining accurate asset registers.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on proper hardware usage, care, and basic troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and safety standards during installation, maintenance, and disposal of hardware equipment.
- Document all hardware installations, repairs, and maintenance activities and submit reports to the IT department for record-keeping.
